Where it all began
I left school at the age of 16, just over 20 years ago, showing my age now! With a passion to learn to drive.
Driving lessons cost money, so second on my list was to get a job. I landed a role with a local company to me who organised trade exhibitions.
My role was to support the sales team with their admin tasks, I loved this role, plus I also got to help out in the event management department as well as the accounts department.
The role was very varied, during my time there, I was shown how to organise trade shows, how to pack a huge pile of boxes into two trunks, which believe me if you had seen the pile you would have never thought they would have ever fit, but the event manager, well she made it look so easy and of course made them all fit. This skill has come in very handy when I am packing cases to go on holiday!
From my time there, I developed a love for organising events no matter how large or small. By working in nearly all the departments within the company, I got to see how you organise an event from start to finish.
